The time has come! Backerkit surveys!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, May 29, 2020 at 09:11:05 PM

First of all, sorry for the delay

The reason was problems with processing many of the pledges, up to 10% of them had some kind of problem.

In the following days, Kickstarter (and sometimes us) have been contacting the people with these kind of problems to try to fix them. In the end, we could bring that number down to a 3%, which is even below the usual in most campaigns (5%).

Most common problems were that the credit/debit card was not accepted and that the bank blocked the payment due to coming from a different country and/or currency.

Anyway, everything is OK now. We have received the money and thus we can send the Backerkit surveys!

Those of you who are in the 3% of unprocessed payments will still receive the survey and will have another chance to pay your pledge and get your rewards, so don't worry!

Add-ons and Backerkit Surveys

You will receive (or maybe you have already received) a mail from Backerkit. If you follow the link you will be prompted with several questions to choose your rewards (when there are different options, like the game's platform and all that). After choosing the rewards, you can choose your add-ons, and even add more if you want.

Here you have a step-by-step video.

Please fill the shipment info even if you have an all digital pledge. Our government (Spain) requires us to make an invoice to each and every backer in order to properly fill taxes, and we have to know at least the country they come from.

We will do any further communication with individual backers through Backerkit, but we will keep posting updates here in Kickstarter.

Play the Demo!

Backers who chose a pledge that includes Beta Access will receive a Steam key for Sword of the Necromancer's demo shortly after you fill the Backerkit survey. This is the same demo some streamers have been playing since we started the Kickstarter campaign, but with some bugfixes and balancing (like bows, which now have ammunition).

You're free to stream the demo as you wish. Also, if you complete it, you will unlock the Flask of Homunculus, which lets you play in co-op. Thanks to Steam's Remote Play Together feature you can even play online co-op with a friend!

We welcome you to Sword of the Necromancer's Discord server, where you will be able to discuss the game and give feedback. Also, we will give special roles to Kickstarter backers (we will get in touch after completing the Backerkit survey!)

New Collaboration: Sword of the Necromancer x Lords of Exile!

Lords of Exile by Squidbit Worksis a Classic Castlevania-inspired game with 8-bit graphics and feeling. They are holding their Kickstarter campaign right now, having achieved their goal already. Check it out and support it if you like what you see!

Gabriel's sword, the Sword of Exilia will appear in Sword of the Necromancer. This is a sword for the brave, granting great strength and a devastating charged attack at the cost of sacrificing your health.

As with the other collaborations, the Sword of Exilia will be obtainable by entering an IR Code. Backers with physical rewards will receive the collaboration IR Cards (+ Trolks) with their shipment.

And last but not least...

JanduSoft's latest game, Indiecalypse will be released digitally May 29th on Xbox One, Steam and Nintendo Switch! Playstation 4 version will be ready soon, as there have been some problems with the certification process (mostly due to censorship :P).

Why did we emphasize "digitally"? Because Indiecalypse will also have a physical edition, released under the new UltraCollectors brand! This will be the very first game to release under this new brand, numbered UC#01!

These editions will have a very limited run, hence the name UltraCollectors!

Check them out at UltraCollectors.com

Kind regards!

Monster Design Contest winners!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, May 15, 2020 at 09:02:11 PM

The day has come! The results are in!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGDIpo1p_J0

The very same day the campaign end, we created a survey so backers could chose their favourite 3 monster designs from the more than 70 submitted.

You can see the designs by clicking in the image above.

After more than 1100 votes, these are the results!

Many cool designs, but we can choose only 3! So meet the winners!

1. "Sprinsioner" by @animatoryc

2. Unnamed Door Mimic by @Lord_Garabato

3. Unnamed Pure Evil Plant creature by @Angiethecat

The three winners will have their monster in the game and appear in the credits as Guest Monster Designer, and receive:

  •  1st Place: Sword of the Necromancer Collector's Edition (PS4 or Switch)
  •  2nd Place: Sword of the Necromancer Physical Edition (PS4 or Switch)
  •  3rd Place: Sword of the Necromancer Digital Deluxe Edition (Steam, Xbox One, PS4 or Switch)

We will get in contact with them starting tomorrow (it's past midnight as we write this), to also start designing how the monster will act in the game (and in the case of the unnamed ones, deciding its name!).

We are very glad with the reception on the contest, and despite having some problems (Twitter hidding some tweets with the correct hashtag, thus we weren't able to find the tweets and count them as a submission), we feel everyone involved had a good time creating the monsters (and us too, looking at them!)

Congratulations to the winners and thank you everyone for submitting your designs!

We have more things in store, but now it's time to work on the game. Please keep tuned and join Sword of the Necromancer's or JanduSoft's Discord to get the latest news!

Please take a look at this project

Our friends at KumihoSoft and Igrasil Studio are working on a really cool-looking Tactical RPG, with turn and grid-based combat (think of games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem Saga): War of Ashird.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/igrasilstudio/war-of-ashird

They have already met their main goal (in less than 12 hours!), but they need help to reach their stretch goals! Take a look at their project and don't hesitate to back it if you like it!

Kind regards!

Backerkit Survey INFO + Wallpapers
almost 4 years ago – Tue, May 12, 2020 at 11:53:46 PM

Dear backers,

Some of you are worried because you are not receiving the surveys to choose the platforms and telling us your shipping address. We addressed this topic in our previous update, but maybe it was lost among all the other things (it was a lengthy post indeed).

We have not sent any survey yet.

Right now, Kickstarter is processing all the payments.  As in every Kickstarter campaign, there are some people that have problems with their credit cards (normally due to the charge coming from different currencies and country, so the bank marks it as a suspicious charge and blocks it). In case of problem, Kickstarter tries a few times more, and if they still can't, they stop and proceed with the next step.

Until Kickstarter has not finished processing those payments we cannot start using Backerkit to send you the surveys. Currently, 95% of payments have been correctly processed and charged. If you have doubts about the status of your pledge, you can ask us.

Once that happens, you will receive a mail from Backerkit. Don't worry if you are not receiving it, everything is fine and going as it should. We will post another update once everything is ready.

We will explain the process again, just in case:

  •  Kickstarter processes payments (currently at 95%)
  • We set up your Backerkit info
  • Mails with the survey get sent

If you follow the link you'll find inside the mail from Backerkit, you will be prompted with a survey to choose your rewards:

  • Platform (Steam, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch) and region (USA, Europe, Australia) of your digital game
  • Which free Jandusoft game you want (Neonwall or Caveman Warriors).  Everyone gets Super Hyperactive Ninja. If you pledged for a tier with a  physical edition, you will receive the 3 games.

For backers who pledged for a tier with physical edition:

  • Platform (PS4, Nintendo Switch) for your physical copy
  • A free IR Card Pack of your choosing. Remember that the Collector's edition comes with the Mixed Pack 1

After you have made your choices, you will be at the "add-on" store.  If you increased your pledge amount to get an add-on, you will see that  you have some money in your Backerkit balance. You can use that balance  to select your add-ons. If you want something more or you didn't  increased your pledge but you now want an add-on, you can select more add-ons and pay the difference. Keep in mind that physical add-ons have a shipping cost!

Once you have finished the survey and got past the add-on store, you will be asked to enter your address.

We will make a video when the time comes, to make it all clear.

You will see that we have set up a Backerkit store (you can see the link at the top of the Kickstarter page). If you're a backer, you don't have to do anything with it, the store is for people who are interested in the game but missed the Kickstarter campaign.

Thank you for your understanding

Here you have a wallpaper!

We have some wallpapers in case you want to decorate your devices:

  • Desktop wallpaper (3840x2160) [link]
  • Smartphone wallpaper (1080x1920) [link]

And to end this update...

 Check out this project!

If you remember, we announced a collaboration with the "Truly Free Trading Card Game" Chroma: Bloom and Blightby Clarity Games. Chroma's Kickstarter campaign is in its last hours, having met their initial goal!

Please check it out and if you like it, help them reach their next stretch goals in their last hours!

One of their creatures, the Tai'ak, will appear in Sword of the Necromancer as an enemy (so that means that you will be able to use it as a summon too!). The Tai'ak will be a regular enemy, so you will encounter it in the dungeon.

We have finished implementing it, take a look!

If you are a backer with a physical edition, or you choose physical add-ons and adding the cards wouldn't make the shipping cost increase, you will receive the Tai'ak IR Card alongside our other collaborations: Europa's Halberd (from 9 Years of Shadows) and the Black Book (from Black Book). You will also receive the Trolks card with them!

These cards will remain exclusive for Kickstarter backers!

We will keep you informed about any information of your interest.

Thank you for your support and kind regards!

Campaign End! + Results of the Language and Extra Card Pack Surveys
almost 4 years ago – Sat, May 09, 2020 at 02:42:09 AM

We did it! Project funded 1343% of its goal!

This is not the end of the journey, but the beginning!

Wow. What a month.

From Grimorio of Games Team and JanduSoft, thanks to all of the 5507 backers that have supported us!

Thanks to you we are the 5th most funded videogame project from Spain in Kickstarter. That's awesome!

All of you have believed in the project, and don't ever doubt that we will work hard to deliver to those expectations. There's much to do, but the team is more motivated than ever! After a little rest this weekend (we did well choosing to end the campaign on a Friday), we will return to the project on Monday and give our 100%.

Sorry, but there's so much to say: this is going to be a lengthy post!

And to think that we almost decided to postpone the campaign due to the COVID-19 thing. In the end, we didn't and you retributed with your support. And we will honor that.

Our aim is to create a fun game, which also tells a story, in this case a love story. A thing this kind of games (dungeon crawlers, roguelites, you name it) usually lack.

We have been working on this game for more than a year and a half (the team has grown during that time), and there's still the hardest part ahead. In game development there is this say that goes like "the last 10% is 90% of the work". We have all game systems and mechanics done (even if we have to balance some, like we did recently with the bow), and now we have to fill the game with content. More monsters, more music, more scenes. And thanks to your help: Voice Acting, more languages, more game modes, more bosses!

Also, thanks to our wonderful backers we will be able to have a physical release. This is very important for us, as even when digital has its advantages, physical is currently the best legal way for users to preserve their games.

As you know, our goal is to release the game on November, at least digitally. Physical editions will almost certainly need more time, and some of you have even contacted us asking if the physical version could be delayed to include all the content planned in the post-launch updates. This is a thing we have yet to decide, but we will ask your opinion soon with a survey.

Remember that every pledge tier receives the digital game, so even if you backed for the physical copy, you will be able to play the game the day it launches on the platform of your choice.

But when will you make that choice, and select your add-ons and all that?

Right now, Kickstarter is processing all the payments. As always in every Kickstarter campaign, there are problems with processing some payments: some banks see this as a strange charge, being from another country or another currency than usual and block the payment. Some people used a debit card that is not supported or doesn't have enough funds. If that's your case, don't panic. Kickstarter will try to charge the pledge a few times more and if they still can't, they won't make it effective. But worry not, you will receive a Backerkit mail like everyone else and you'll be able to pay through their system and get your rewards.

About Backerkit, after Kickstarter has finished processing all payments (it has currently processed 90% of them, the rest are cases like what we explained above) you will receive a mail from Backerkit, in two weeks from now at most. Don't worry, it's not spam! If you follow the link you'll find inside, you will be prompted with a survey to choose your rewards:

Also, if you are a Kickstarter backer and selected physical add-ons but didn't choose a physical edition tier, you will still receive the gift IR Cards, don't worry!

We will make a video when the time comes, to make it all clear.

Survey results!

As the campaign is closed, we can show the results of the Language and Extra Card Pack Content surveys.

The Additional Languages stretch goal included a fourth additional language (besides Japanese, French and German) which was to be chosen by the backers.

These are the results of the poll:

The fourth language will be Italian. After we have translated the game in all the supported languages (English, Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Japanese, French, German and Italian) we will try to add more languages, and will do so following the survey's results. So if we can, we would add Simplified Chinese, and then Russian, and so on.

About the Mixed Pack 2 Contents, these have been your choices:

According to these results, and being a total 8 cards, we will add 3 weapons, 3 monsters and 2 relics to the pack.

Thank you all for participating! Shortly after this update, you will receive a backer-only update to choose the winners of the Monster Design Contest.

Kind regards!

Feel free to join us either on Jandusoft's Discord, or the one we have created for Sword of the Necromancer and chat with us!
